Excellent article on California's Black history. My family migrated here in 1898 and my grandfather had is own bricklaying business in Los Angeles. Another interesting note; my husband worked for Peter Burnett Middle School. They just changed the name a couple of year ago after realizing he was a racist from Tennessee who envisioned an all white West. Thank you for sharing.
