I agree, even though I understand the grumblings around the water cooler. I never had any serious monetary expectations from Medium. But I do think diversifying is key.

Time is a huge investment and energy one can never get back. Those writers who depend on the money aren't getting a return on their invetment or the promise of Medium through the partner program. "Fair exchange is no robbery."
