I always say, "silence is oftentimes the best defense." If you don't engage with a troll, they have no choice but to slither away and shimmy up to the next victim in their line of fire. No need to feed them the negative energy they crave. Giving them 50 claps is an acknowlegement they don't deserve. Block and keep it moving.
