I find writing groups work best when you have an accountability partner. I've been in a couple of groups. Sure we wrote pieces to be critiqued every other weekend, but in between we were on our own to remain disciplined. Everyone was busy with life and didn't check in with each other. Eventually it disbanded. Life took over.
