I totally disagree. This was the most distasteful display of agression and loss of self control on the world stage for everyone to see ever. When violence is at it's height worldwide we see a black man assaulting another black man at an award show? As if POC need an additional layer of disrespect. I thought it was CLASSLESS and a disservice to black people everywhere.
Especailly since Jada has disrespected Will more than Chris Rock ever could as a comedian with her shananigans. Are you serious? Should a man defend his wife's honor? Yes, of course but I can't agree with his approach. And the profanity, disgusting! Why couldn't he have waited until after the show?
Plus, part of me thought it was staged and scripted which leaves me to believe the academy was in on it and if that's the case, it's even worse commentary on where we stand as people pitting two black men against each other. Chris Rock didn't flinch and Will descended the stage with a smirk on his face. And no one came to Chris Rock's defense.
Do you think if a white comedian had been slapped on stage it would have played out the same? Security would have escorted him out so fast it would make your head spin. It was insult to injury that Will apologized to everyone but Chris Rock.
I can't go along with this one....there's a time and place for everything. This was neither and such a blight on the night of him receiving the highest honor in his profession.
