I'm so sorry for your loss Rebecca. This piece resonated deeply with me because I lost my mother during the pandemic (not COVID related) and a new owner had just bought out our company. They gave me 3 days bereavement, didn't offer any condolences, and basically pressured me into coming into the office when the pandemic was in full swing. It was heartbreaking.
