Interesting and so true. In the case of celebrity death, our media is astute at pulling in revenue posthumously. Sad, but accurate. MJ and Elvis are perfect examples of the riches acquired after death.

Personally, I have felt a tinge of nostalgic sadness for musicians who colored my youth and it does somehow signify an end of an era.

Idolatry is a dangerous mechanism. Being inspired by a media darling is one thing, but succumbing to putting them on a pedestal and allowing them to influence your life in unrealistic ways can be unhealthy.
