Not much different in America. Only recently have we had a change of perspective, enjoying our natural hair for its own beauty and versatility. We've had to fight for the right to be in professional spaces wearing it. Laws have passed against hair discrimination in the workplace.

It's been a longtime struggle to be accepted as we are. Still is. Good for you. Standing up for your daughter and demanding she's more than her hair and features. They did a number on us. 😉
