Oh gosh, this pain is all too familiar as I lost my mom to this deadly disease. So unfair.

Occurs to me when Alzheimer’s is part of the equation it works the other way, too. He lost us in pieces. First his friends faded away. Then the extended family, and finally — the ones dearest to his heart.
