Or the more obvious question to me; was it real or was it fake? Chris Rock didn't flinch or lose footing. Will Smith descended the stage with a smirk and don't forget the camera caught him laughing out loud at the inception of the joke.

I'm not convinced it wasn't all staged and scripted. If so, that's even worse commentary on who we are as a people. In the throes of rampant violence in every corner of the globe, we think it's okay for a Black man to assault another on the world stage with an international audience, then accept the most prestigious award in his profession within minutes.

Do we think for one minute had Rock been a white comedian, Will wouldn't be ushered out in a heartbeat? Charges pressed, Oscar confiscated, end of story.

I wasn't watching the Oscar's either until the news flash, but maybe that's the point. The Oscar's ratings have been sagging for a few years. Perhaps they were desperate. Sad, they may have used violence provoked by a Black man to increase their visibility. Sure a man should defend his wife's honor but I thought the approach was disgusting, distasteful, CLASSLESS, and did a disservice to all Black men and woman everywhere. Shame on all of them!!
