A neighbor on my Nextdoor App just posed this question:

I’m confused. My PG&E bill was $400.00 this month and I don’t know why. We set our heater no higher than 64 degrees and turn it down to 52 degrees at night. We keep lights off and have a high efficiency washer/dryer. Is anyone else seeing these high costs?

California’s Pacific Gas and Electric bills will increase by four hundred dollars this year. Excuse me, my monthly bill already resembles a friggin car note. We knew we would pay for their negligence sooner than later.

They were so busy raking in billions and paying their overpriced executives and investors, they neglected their number one priority — maintaining their infrastructure to ensure residents are provided safe electricity.

I’m so sickened by this mentality in Corporate America my head is on fire — pun intended. As a country, do we really value money over human life? No need to answer that question — of course, we do.

And, why do we still pay the same rate when the electricity is down and out? A stipend towards my candle and…
