Thank you for setting the record straight. They say, ignorance is bliss. If you don't know, you can't be held accountable. Now they don't want any of our history taught in schools so they can keep future generations ignorant too. Despicable.

Not to mention it's rude to ask someone their ethnicity unless everyone is participating in a conversation revolving around one's ancestry and home of origin.

I can never fathom what difference it will make when someone asks me, "what are you?" It says more about them than me.
