Truth be told; white America is fearful people of color armed with knowledge about this country could somehow violently tip the balance. The same reason it was unlawful for a slave to learn how to read. Knowledge is power they want to keep to themselves.

They know exactly what they’re doing in protecting the tapestry of interwoven inequity in policies and ultimately their legacy of privilege.
