Well said, Jay. I think most do the best they can. I’ve had 90% positive experiences outside of a pub keeping me in limbo for more than a day. I think acknowledgment of a submission is an important common courtesy.

My pet peeve is changing something without my permission. It’s only happened once, but I let the editor know it changed the meaning of what I was saying and they changed it back.
