Wow! I'm sorry you had this experience but like others I'm not surprised. Fear, ignorance and irrational thought processes are the bane of our society. Thanks for expressing your thoughts so eloquently in an effort to educate and encourage civilized discourse.

Most times these types of people can't articulate why they feel a certain way and realize they would sound stupid or inept for an opinion that has no factual bearing. That's why ignorance is bliss to a mind that can't or refuses to think deeper. Keep talking to those of us who can. So proud of you! ;-)
